Portable Foam Fire Extinguishers, including stored pressure models and internal high pressure carbon dioxide cartridge models, have the following characteristics: AFFF (Aqueous Film Forming Foam) extinguishes fires almost as quickly as powder and seals the burning surface against re-ignition. It is mainly intended for fires involving petrol, oil, and other liquids, but is also effective against fires in wood, textiles, and fibrous materials.
Discharge of the extinguishing liquid is controlled by a lever valve with a foam-making branch pipe nozzle, providing rapid knock-down of surface fires. The foam spreads over the burning surface, preventing further release of burning gases. Its self-healing property ensures quick coverage of the fuel surface, giving excellent protection against re-ignition and increasing operator safety.
Cylinders are manufactured from high-quality steel with bursting pressures above average. All portable foam extinguishers are internally coated for optimal corrosion protection.
