BARE SHAFT FIRE PUMP

 Specifications

Volute type, axial inlet, single stage centrifugal pumps.
Suction & discharge flanges are conforming to PN16.
Impellers are single suction, enclosed type.
Axial thrust is balanced by back steel ring and balancing holes.
The pump shaft is supported by two heavy duty type bearings of 6300 Series


 Standard Productions

Casing material is cast iron; operating pressure is 12 Bars.
Impellers are made of high-grade cast iron; impeller nut made of brass
No casing wear rings are used at standard production of EXCEL type pumps. But there is enough material thickness in order to fix wear rings during repairs.
Shafts are made of C – 1040 grade carbon steel, shaft sleeve is not used at EXCEL version. Shaft part meeting the stuffing box is coated with hard chromium.
Four rings of PTFE braid soft packing are used. There is a lantern ring after the first one sealing fluid is supplied inside.
Glands are made of Bronze, gland studs and nuts are made of stainless steel
Bearings are oil lubricated. There are oil seals near ball bearings. Oil filling and drain plugs and oil level eye made of plastic are on the bearing housing.
Casing gasket is an O – ring made of Nitride Rubber.

 Fire Pump Controllers

Basically a fire pump controller is designed for the automatic/manual control of the electrical main pump (duty), pressure drop (minor) make up pump (jockey) and a standby diesel pump. Usually the electric motor driven main pump and the diesel engine driven pump will be of similar capacity (kW/GPM). Diesel engine driven pump will meet the demand of water in power failure condition. This controller has an automatic circuit to switch on the diesel engine pump when the line pressure drops substantially and during power failure. Manual test run of the diesel engine is possible even during main powered condition.The control circuit of the pump is designed to be versatile for tailor – made or custom – built requirements. But these modifications are optional and available on request only.
